Mahon (Minorca)

Spanish village in the Balearic islands, it is a strategic starting point to visit the wonderful Minorca with its beaches, the bright colours and the Mediterranean scents.
On the island, rich in many creeks where one can relax or practice water sports of all kinds, it is possible to enjoy mild temperate weather throughout the whole year.

Among the numerous beaches, the following are absolutely unmissable: Cala Mesquida, framed by a 223-foot tall rock and by an imposing fortified tower built by the Britons in the XVIII century; Es Grau, beach with a low seafloor, defended by the little houses of a small, old fishermen’s harbour that developed in time, turning into a tourist village; Presili and Tortuga, two beaches included in the protected area of the Albufera Natural Park and much appreciated by those looking for uncontaminated spots.

But it’s not only beaches and climate drawing tourists to Minorca: the island offers a series of attractions and extraordinarily beautiful places, like Algendar Gorge.
The typical villages of Mahon and Ciutadella are worth visiting, too.
