  • LIQUIDS UP TO 2 LITERS ALLOWED IN CARRY-ON LUGGAGE FOR PASSENGERS DEPARTING FROM MARCONI AIRPORT

Starting today, July 28, in compliance with the new ECAC (European Civil Aviation Authority) regulations and with the green light from ENAC, thanks to the new "EDS C3" X-ray machines installed at Bologna Airport for several months, all passengers departing from Marconi Airport are permitted to carry liquids, aerosols, and gels (LAGs) in containers of up to 2 liters per container, leaving them in their carry-on luggage. This eliminates the previous limit of 100 ml per container, for a maximum of 10 containers in transparent plastic bags that must be presented separately.

Bologna Airport is one of five airports in Italy that allow the application of the new regulation. For all other airports, the 100 ml per container limit remains in place.

An important harbour on the Oder river, situated at the south-west of the country, it has gained tourist relevance especially after the UEFA Euro 2012. Historically, it was first part part of the Austrian Empire, then of the Kingdom of Prussia and of Germany, then finally it was integrated into the Polish territory.
All these passages are mirrored in the architectural style of the city.
Its historical centre hosts magnificent buildings in Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and modern style. The core of all is the Market Square, Rynek, home to the Town Hall.
Highly recommended is a visit to the “House of the Griffins”, its facade adorned with griffins and eagles, St. John the Baptist’s Cathedral and the University, founded at the beginning of the XVIII century by the Austrian Emperor Leopold I.
