Malta

Island and republic situated between Europe and Africa, it is part of the archipelago including Gozo, Comino, Cominotto and Filfla. Famous for the entertainment and the culture, it is home to as many as three Unesco World Heritage sites. For a holiday dedicated to the sea and the history.

The island’s capital is La Valletta, which, with its monuments, is part of the Unesco patrimony.
St. John’s co-cathedral absolutely deserves a visit, as do the Grand Master’s Palace and headquarter of the Maltese Parliament, the fortifications for the city’s defence and Fort St. Elmo, all of which date back to the XVI century.

Among the Unesco treasures are also the magnificent megalithic temples of Gigantia, Hagar Qim and Menaidra, Scorba, Ta Hagrat and Tarscen. Dating back between 3000 and 2200 b.C., they are spread across the islands of Malta and Gozo.

And for the suntan lovers, the most famous beaches for their sand texture and the wide spaces are Ghadira Bay, Ghajn Tuffieha and Golden Bay. More secluded and smaller are Paradise Bay and Armier, with a view on Gozo.
