Is the Airport open?
Passenger Terminal is currently open every day from 4.00 a.m. to the departure of the last flight in the evening.
Bologna Airport is open in accordance with the provisions of the authorities in order to guarantee an essential public service, which is to ensure that those who absolutely must travel can do so, with scheduled flights, ambulance flights or military flights and for the transport of goods, with cargo flights. Medical equipment supplies, including vaccines, arrived and are still arriving to Bologna to help combat the impact of the global pandemic.
We continue to work closely with the health authorities and Airline Partners to ensure that this is done safely.

Why has Bologna airport always been open?
Our airport has always been open on a scaled down basis as we help with the repatriation of Italian citizens and to allow those who have an unwavering need to travel, to be able to do so. During the whole emergency and the various lockdown phases that followed, ambulance and organ transport flights and the transport of medical supplies with cargo flights were always guaranteed. Equipment and supplies of sanitary materials have arrived and are still arriving in Bologna, to help fight the impact of the global pandemic.
Vaccines to fight Covid-19 are also arriving at Bologna Airport.

What social distancing and precautionary measures are in place at Bologna airport?
The measures Italian authorities have put in place to respond to Coronavirus include enhanced monitoring procedures for flights, with temperature controls with latest generation thermal scanners positioned at the entrances of the passenger terminal, at security checks and at arrivals and with laser thermometers, the presence of additional airport officials, the intensive airport areas sanitation, the positioning of disinfectant hand sanitizer along the entire passenger journey and in all areas dedicated to airport staff. In detail, the following were positioned:
- 2,250 stickers on the ground to facilitate spacing;
- 950 spacer sheets on the seats;
- 10 latest generation thermal scanners positioned at the entrances of the passenger terminal, at security checks and at arrivals.;
- 93 plexiglass barriers at check-ins and boarding gates;
- 100 dispensers of hand sanitizing liquid throughout the passengers' journey and in areas dedicated to airport staff.
Moreover, intensive sanitization of areas is active for which an innovative method of sanitization with molecular fragmentation, has also been adopted.
Last but not leastIn addition, we have implemented signage and voice announcements, social and website information content to remind passengers recommendation about social distance and good practices as to wash frequently their hands.
Airport staff are always present at the terminal to provide reply to all the information requests, thanks to the constant monitoring of the information point.
Bologna Airport is working to ensure that passengers can reach their destination as quickly and safely as possible and at the same time is guaranteeing its airport staff to operate safely.
In collaboration with the health authorities, the airport constantly follows all government guidelines to protect passengers and airport staff.

Is the use of the mask mandatory at the airport?
Yes, in line with the new regional law of the Emilia-Romagna Region, the use of the mask in all places open to the public is mandatory, therefore the use of the mask is also mandatory inside the passenger terminal.
We strongly advise passengers to follow the indications of the Italian Government on the website and the indications of the Airline you are traveling with.
Please be mindful that you may be asked to remove it when going through security so that we can carry out security checks.

I accompany a passenger or I pick it up, can I enter the passenger terminal?
The entrance in the passenger terminal is also allowed for meeters and greeters of departing passengers, but the access will be suspended in case of overcrowding inside the terminal. On the contrary Meeters and greeters of arriving passengers must remain outside the terminal where special waiting areas have been set up. There are always exceptions for those accompanying certain specific categories such as passengers with reduced mobility or minors traveling alone. These can in any case access to the terminal.

Is the Parking Control office always manned?
Yes, it is, 24/7.Parking -
I have lost my parking ticket, what should I do?
You should report to the Parking Control office, at the ground floor of the P2, showing your ID, vehicle registration document, departure tickets and any booking.

Are there any reserved places for PRM?
You can find free reserved parking spaces for Passengers with reduced mobility holding a valid DPR 151/2012 Parking Permit in parking lots P1, P2 and P Express Premium.
In order to avail of the free parking you have to report to the Parking Control office (on the ground floor of the multi-storey P2 parking lot, open 24/7), showing the following documents:
- Entry ticket into the parking;
- valid European DPR 151/2012 Parking Permit;
- DPR 151/2012 Parking Permit holder's valid ID;
- copy of the flight ticket's booking or paper or electronic boarding pass belonging to the DPR 151/2012 permit holder.

Can disable passengers ask for assistance at the Parking Control Office?
Yes, by supplying the surname of the PRM and their flight destination. In addition, they have to inform the PRM staff if they have already requested the assistance with the airline.

Can I buy plane tickets over the phone?
Yes, the service allows you to buy plane tickets, ask for refunds and/or cancellations through a dedicated assistance by the call centre staff.

Where are ticketing offices at the airport and what are their opening times?
On the ground floor, near the check-in area. Most Airlines are assisted by the two companies Alisud and Are. The rest of the Airlines have their own counter.

Where do you pay for the extra baggage?
You can pay for the extra baggage fare directly at the airline ticketing offices, located on the ground floor.

How can I buy a plane ticket on Bologna Airport website?
Plane tickets are issued immediately while booking if purchased by Visa or Mastercard credit card with an additional security pin (Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode), or within 48 hours from the booking, if bought by a different credit card.
The service is available 24/7 on the website.

What happens if I do not receive the plane ticket bought on Bologna Airport website
In extremely exceptional cases beyond the will and control of AdB, it may not be possible to issue within 48 hours the plane tickets for confirmed bookings with the label "open status", as well as the other cases where, prior communication to the Client, further checks on the received booking are necessary.
AdB reserves the right to check the personal data and credit card holder's name, requiring a copy of the ID, passport and credit card.In such cases AdB shall have to promptly inform the Client and provide for, whenever possible, the issuing of an equivalent plane ticket to the one requested, or else agree with the Client on an alternative solution.

What should I do if I don't find my luggage on arrival?
Please report to the Lost and Found office located on ground floor (arrivals), and hand in the luggage tag you have with your ticket. The operator will open a report to search for the luggage and have it delivered to you. In case your Airline provides for this service, you will be given a temporary replacement kit and the delivery will be arranged.
Later, if the Airline you have travelled with uses the World Tracer system, you can follow the tracing of your luggage live.

Can I put medicines inside my handluggage?
Yes, you can. Liquid medicines or products used for medical purposes are allowed in the quantity needed for the duration of the trip, provided that they measure less than 100 ml (IF CONTAINED IN BIGGER BOTTLES, IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO PRESENT AN EXHAUSTIVE AND DETAILED MEDICAL PRESCRIPTION STATING THE PASSENGER'S NAME).
By "trip " we mean the whole journey including outbound flight, vacation and return trip.
No restrictions apply to solid medicines.

How can I request for a special assistance?
In order to get a service adequate for your needs, as well as a prompt one, the request for the assistance must be forwarded to the Airline already while booking or anyway within 48 hours from the departure time.
It will be the Airline's duty to inform the concerned airport.

How much money can one carry abroad?
The import and/or export of currency and other transferable securities and assets is free up to the total amount of €10,000. For higher sums it is necessary to fill in a form and hand it at the customs while entering or leaving the country. Failing to do so will result in an offense of the currency regulations.
