RUNWAY CLOSED AT NIGHT FROM 25/08 TO 30/09 FOR WORKS
As part of the airfield infrastructure maintenance program, the runway at Bologna Marconi Airport will be closed to air traffic during night hours from 25 August to 30 September 2025, from 23:55 local time (GMT+2) to 05:55 local time (GMT+2), every night within the indicated period. The closure is required to carry out extraordinary works on the runway pavement, the maneuvering area, and several taxiways. During the specified dates and times, no flights will be able to depart from or land at Bologna. Airlines, which have already been informed, may cancel flights or operate to/from alternative airports. Outside of the indicated dates and times, Bologna Airport will remain regularly open and fully operational.
We apologize for the inconvenience, which is nonetheless aimed at improving airport infrastructure, and we invite passengers to contact their airline directly for details regarding individual flights, as well as for any refunds or rebooking options.
LIQUIDS UP TO 2 LITERS ALLOWED IN CARRY-ON LUGGAGE FOR PASSENGERS DEPARTING FROM MARCONI AIRPORT
Starting today, July 28, in compliance with the new ECAC (European Civil Aviation Authority) regulations and with the green light from ENAC, thanks to the new "EDS C3" X-ray machines installed at Bologna Airport for several months, all passengers departing from Marconi Airport are permitted to carry liquids, aerosols, and gels (LAGs) in containers of up to 2 liters per container, leaving them in their carry-on luggage. This eliminates the previous limit of 100 ml per container, for a maximum of 10 containers in transparent plastic bags that must be presented separately.
Bologna Airport is one of five airports in Italy that allow the application of the new regulation. For all other airports, the 100 ml per container limit remains in place.
