Policy for Quality, Environment, Energy and Safety in the workplace, with a view to sustainable development
Aeroporto G. Marconi di Bologna S.p.A. (AdB) adopts and integrates management systems certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 5001 and a fire prevention system with the aim of guaranteeing service quality and sustainability, occupational safety and energy efficiency, with the collaboration of the entire organisation.
AdB therefore manages its activities and development plans, guaranteeing compliance with the principles of service quality and sustainable growth, thus satisfying the demand for mobility while protecting the Environment, People and Prosperity.
By following the sustainability line proposed by ACI Europe to meet “Net Zero Carbon Emissions by Airport Operations” commitments, the Company reiterates that tackling climate change by limiting energy consumption, using renewable sources and ensuring that its own greenhouse gas emissions are absorbed and offset are priority objectives. Aeroporto G. Marconi di Bologna S.p.A. is absolutely committed to reducing its emissions to achieve the “net zero carbon“ objective by 2030 and leading its stakeholders towards decarbonisation. The entire Organisation is tasked with achieving these objectives.
Top Management is fully aware that leadership, commitment and the involvement of senior management are essential for the development and improvement of the Integrated Management System. To this end, it establishes policies and strategic quality, environment, energy and occupational health and safety objectives, consistent with the company mission and guarantees the availability of the resources necessary to maintain this system and its objectives.
Top Management therefore ensures the maintenance and improvement of an integrated Quality, Environment, Energy, Occupational Safety and Fire Management System, based on compliance with the following principles:
- Ensuring that all operations are performed in compliance with all applicable environmental, energy, health and safety and fire regulations and requirements, as well as its own voluntary regulation;
- implementing control, monitoring, measurement and analysis of its activities, in order to guarantee continuous improvement of environmental, energy, health and safety and fire prevention performance, promoting a reporting system that allows the identification and the prompt handling of critical factors, favouring process improvement;
- improving internal efficiency and implementing the organisation's strategy by an appropriately process-based structuring of the activities, defining and monitoring the tasks and responsibilities both through internal relations and by liaising with the external parties concerned;
- ensuring the availability of information and all the resources necessary to achieve the quality, environment, safety and energy saving objectives defined downstream of this policy;
- set and keep promoting innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement processes, to be able to respond quickly and effectively to the changing market context;
- pursue the fulfilment of the needs of the customer and all stakeholders, even proactively and by analysing interested party feedback, with special attention paid to vulnerable categories;
- adopt a customer-centric approach for all activities, ensuring that both internal and external customers are always the central focus, keep listening to them and anticipating their needs, always within an airport system perspective;
- monitor the analysis of airport performance with the aim of pursuing improvement in terms of technological and process innovation to promote a constant upgrading of the airport experience;
- meet local mobility needs while adopting a sustainable development approach;
- promote and implement sustainable and alternative mobility initiatives for passengers and the airport ground crew;
- assess, prevent and minimise the airport's environmental impacts, with specific reference to the following aspects: water resource (quality and consumption), waste production, biodiversity, circularity of material, emissions into the atmosphere, soil and subsoil;
- commit to adopting climate adaptation solutions for the airport system, based on specific vulnerability analyses;
- contribute to the fight against climate change, continuously improving energy efficiency and using alternative and renewable sources. Ensure that when infrastructures/systems are developed or upgraded, and when purchasing products or services that have energy relevance, the appropriate standards are adopted that can guarantee the improvement of energy performance;
- assess, prevent and minimise risks to the health and safety of workers, in particular accidents, occupational illnesses and fire prevention;
- prevent and combat all forms of sexual harassment, guaranteeing a safe and respectful working environment: any unwarranted behaviour with a sexual connotation will be handled seriously and decisively, promoting training and the possibility of making confidential reports to counteract prohibited conduct, including through reports and the protection of the personal data of the reporting person;
- promote a fire prevention and emergency response system that allows rapid and effective interventions, based on the professional skills of the company personnel in charge and on coordination with the other Enterprises/Companies operating at the airport, as well as with the airport and regional authorities, with particular attention paid to internal emergency teams;
- carry out coordination and supervision activities aimed at encouraging correct behaviour, in line with the AdB policy, by sub-contractors, suppliers and companies that work on behalf of the organisation;
- engage in meetings and encourage the participation of workers, also through specific surveys and worker' representatives, when required, who should participate in the risk assessments and view the related documents;
- make our policy available to interested parties, encouraging its dissemination and implementation through disclosure, information and training activities;
- promote active collaboration with stakeholders, to ensure that the policies and practices of Bologna Airport are respected throughout the supply chain, increasing their value and promoting the spread of a culture based on the principles of quality, sustainability and safety of workers enshrined in this policy.
These principles are the cornerstone of our Policy and act as a reference point when setting and subsequently reassessing on a regular basis the objectives and targets, summarised within specific programmes.
The entire company organisation is required to collaborate at all levels to maintain and constantly improve our high standards of service quality, protection of the environment, energy and water resources, occupational health and safety and fire prevention.
