    As part of the airfield infrastructure maintenance program, the runway at Bologna Marconi Airport will be closed to air traffic during night hours from 25 August to 30 September 2025, from 23:55 local time (GMT+2) to 05:55 local time (GMT+2), every night within the indicated period. The closure is required to carry out extraordinary works on the runway pavement, the maneuvering area, and several taxiways.
    During the specified dates and times, no flights will be able to depart from or land at Bologna. Airlines, which have already been informed, may cancel flights or operate to/from alternative airports. Outside of the indicated dates and times, Bologna Airport will remain regularly open and fully operational.
    We apologize for the inconvenience, which is nonetheless aimed at improving airport infrastructure, and we invite passengers to contact their airline directly for details regarding individual flights, as well as for any refunds or rebooking options.

With airberlin and Alitalia the world is getting closer to Bologna

Starting from the 2nd May 2016, airberlin will operate its first service from Bologna to Dusseldorf. The three daily flights offer travelers from Bologna a frequent travel option to the capital of the important economic region North-Rhine Westphalia. Furthermore, 24 destinations within Germany, Europe and worldwide are reachable with only one stop and convenient connection times. The new flights are integrated into the codeshare agreement with Alitalia.

Susanna Sciacovelli, VP International Sales at airberlin said during the press briefing at Bologna Airport: “Italy is one of the most strategic makets for airberlin and Bologna with its significant business sector is a valuable addition to our route portfolio. We look forward to welcoming travelers from Bologna on board our flights to Dusseldorf and beyond – for example to the US and the Caribbean. Furthermore, we offer international travelers coming to Italy a frequent flight option to Bologna. Our goal is to continuously improve our network between Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Together with our partner Alitalia, we have steadily increased the number of joint codeshare guests. In 2015, more than half a Million passengers flew on airberlin’s and Alitalia’s codeshare flights.”

"This summer Alitalia will start direct flights from Bologna’s Marconi airport to Catania, Lamezia Terme and Reggio Calabria thus making easier travels to the South of Italy. Furthermore, thanks to several daily connections with Rome Fiumicino airport, travelers can also transfer with ease at Rome to 70 destinations in Italy and worldwide, including the new routes to Santiago, Mexico City and Beijing.“
 

Via Dusseldorf, travelers from Bologna can easily connect to Hamburg, Berlin, Dresden or the island of Sylt in the Northern Sea with airberlin. Copenhagen and Stockholm can be reached up to two times per day, Reykjavik on Iceland is offered several times a week. airberlin also connects travelers from Bologna with Kos, Samos and Karpathos in Greece as well as Ponta Delgada, Malaga and Alicante or Jersey on the Channel Islands. Travelers can also book flights with airberlin to ten long-haul destinations: Havana and Varadero in Cuba, Punta Cana and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic and New York, Boston, Miami, Fort Myers, Los Angeles, San Francisco with up to two daily connections.
