Marsa Alam

From small fishermen village on the Red Sea, Marsa Alam has turned into a popular tourist destination thanks to the many wonderful beaches and the coral reef rich in fish, attracting scuba divers from all over the world.

Among the most beautiful seaside resorts to visit is the Shaab Samadai Lagoon, one of the most striking ones in the Red Sea region.
Here the coral reef is horseshoe-shaped, creating a turquoise water lagoon where several dolphins have their natural habitat. Sharm El Luli is also remarkable, with uncontaminated sands and crystalline waters.

Marsa Alam is also the only Egyptian region boasting a 62-mile protected coastal strip, Wadi Gimal Park’s. Here only eco-lodgers can be built, a kind of camping site with tents and bungalows directly on the sea: an alternative to the hotel accomodations.

Marsa Alam offers attractions even to those who are not interested in snorkeling: an excursion to the Emerald mines and the Seti I Temple in a Khanais is a must.
