“More than connections”: Bologna Airport launches new ESG communications platform developed with [Alkemy]+
Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport has launched "More than connections", a new ESG communications platform developed by [Alkemy]+, the Alkemy Group division bringing together creativity, design, media and commerce, with the support of its ESG & Sustainability Advisory team.
The initiative marks a new chapter in the way the airport communicates its commitment to sustainability, introducing an integrated narrative that highlights Bologna Airport's role in creating connections, opportunities and positive impact for the local area. The new platform also strengthens the visibility of the company's ESG commitment by embedding sustainability themes across all aspects of its communication activities.
The project was designed to make the environmental, social and economic value generated by Bologna Airport more visible and easier to understand. To achieve this goal, Bologna Airport and [Alkemy]+ carried out a comprehensive research and stakeholder engagement programme involving both internal and external audiences, complemented by an analysis of the competitive landscape and industry best practices.
The process revealed a key insight: Bologna Airport already delivers significant and wide-ranging benefits every day, but these contributions needed to be communicated more effectively to its target audiences. This led to the development of a new strategic and creative platform that positions ESG as tangible proof of the airport's contribution to people, businesses and communities.
At the heart of the project is the new tagline, "More than connections", which will accompany the company's logo across all communications. Created by the [Alkemy]+ creative team, the tagline reflects the value Bologna Airport creates every day for the region, its people and its stakeholders, extending far beyond its role as a transport hub. The concept comes to life through an integrated campaign and a series of key visuals centred on a hero film, produced by [Alkemy]+'s media house. The campaign will be rolled out in the coming weeks across social media channels and airport screens, bringing the meaning of the tagline to life and showcasing the airport's contribution to economic, social and environmental development.
The film was previewed during the 40th edition of Il Cinema Ritrovato International Film Festival in Bologna, the prestigious event organised by the Cineteca di Bologna.
At the same time, the Group's ESG & Sustainability Advisory team supported Bologna Airport in the development of the first Executive Summary of its 2025 Sustainability Report, together with a range of related communication materials, making sustainability reporting more accessible and easier to understand for non-specialist audiences.
