Malaga

It is a historical city and famous Spanish tourist destination, thanks to the presence of important museums, first of which the one dedicated to Pablo Picasso, and of buildings like the cathedral, Gibralfaro Castle and the Alcazaba. Malaga also boasts beautiful beaches and a mild weather through the whole year.

The Picasso Museum is located in the former Jewish district of the Medieval town, in the XVI century Palacio de Buenavista, and it gathers over 200 works by the famous Malaga native artist.
Pay a visit to the native house of the artist, too, and among the city museums, to the Contemporary Art Centre.

Most beautiful is the city cathedral, a harmonious ensemble of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles.
While, for those interested in the city view, it is possible to climb up the bastions of Gibralfaro castle (VIII century). Near the castle is the Alcazaba, the fortified palace of the Muslim governors of Malaga with its fascinating towers and terraces. Under the Alcanzaba is located an ancient Roman theatre.
The closest beach to Malaga city centre is the ’Malagueta’.
