Madrid

The capital of Spain and of the country’s ‘movida’, it finds itself in the heart of the Iberian peninsula.
Its main symbol is the Puerta del Sol, city centre from which all the main Spanish roads stem.

Madrid is home to all governmental headquarters, the major Spanish companies and the XVIII century palace where the Spanish Royal family resides. The latter represents the heart of the Bourbon Madrid. The cultural and artistic soul of the city revolves around Prado’s museum, one of the most important art galleries in the world.

Strongly recommended are the Puerta del Sol with the Clock palace, the Catedral de la Almudena, the Plaza Mayor and Felipe III statue with the horse sculpted by Gianbologna and Plaza de España, with its 384- foot tall skyscraper.

Among the amusements sites: Calle Huertas with many clubs and bars; Plaza de Santa Barbara, the Glorieta de Bilbao and Alfonso Martìnez for the tapas bars, pubs and restaurants; Paseo de la Castellana, home to luxurious clubs and restaurants.
