Iasi

Important city located in the North-East of Romania, culturally vibrant, it hosts important museums and sacred buildings.
In the city Palace of Culture, built in a flamboyant Neo-gothic style, are hosted the four most relevant museums in Iasi: the Ethnographic Museum, the Art Museum, the Moldova’s History Museum, the Science and Technique ‘Stefan Procopiu’ Museum.
Inside of it there is the municipal library ‘Gheorghe Asachi’.

Still culture-wise, between World War I and II the Palace of the Royal Cultural Foundation was built on Eminescu square, hosting today the central University library with about 3 million books.

Last but not least, do not miss a visit to the religious heritage of the city, which extends from the city centre to the sorrounding hills: the Three Hierarchs church (1639), St. Sava’s church, the Great Synagogue, Golia Monastery and lastly, on the peaks sorrounding the city, the monasteries of Galata and Cetatuia are worth visiting.
