Valencia

The city is an open-air museum, where secular buildings and ultramodern architecture coexist. Valencia is also a seaside resort boasting uncontaminated beaches a few miles from the city.
And again, ‘paella’ was born in Valencia, a worldwide known dish.

El Miguelete, the city cathedral’s tower, is an obligatory stop-over for all those visiting the city. From its height you can enjoy a 360° view.
Another unmissable attraction is the Lonja de la Seda (Silk Exchange Market), declared Unesco World Heritage site, it also hosts a crenelated tower and the marvellous Central market’s hall (in a flamboyant Gothic style). It was erected between the XV and the XVI century.

Also worth seeing are the Plaza de Toros and Torres de Serrans. While among the futuristic architectures the Oceanogràfic, the Hemisferic and the Ombracolo stand out.

Valencia also boasts a privileged seaside setting: it takes only 15 minutes to reach Las Arenas, Malvarrosa and El Cabañal beaches from the city centre, while the uncontaminated shores of El Saler, or those belonging to the Albufera natural reserve, are only 6 miles away.
