Bucharest

Romania’s capital, it is an interesting city from a cultural point of view with nearly 40 museums, 22 theatres, 18 art galleries and the various libraries spread around its territory.
Moreover, at a short distance one can relive the Gothic atmospheres connected to Dracula’s myth.

In the city, it is highly recommended to pay a visit to the ‘People’s House’, the second biggest Palace in the world after the Washington’s Pentagon, covering 340.000 cubic metres. Today it is home to the State Parliament.
Also St. Joseph’s Cathedral is worth a visit, in its Romanic style, and the various churches mostly in Byzantine style.

In the neighbourhood, it is possible to dive into the Gothic thanks to the Dracula’s legends visiting Lake Snagov with its forest, the Monastery and the Church of the Assumption of Mary, home to Vlad III’s grave, where the legend and then the novel of the well-known vampire stem from.
Another unmissable site is Peles Castle (one of the most beautiful ones in Europe), and that of Dracula’s, built in 1377.
