Brussels

Headquarter of the main European Union’s institutions, the Belgian capital marries together history, modernism and art in an original mix, from the Gothic buildings of the Grand Place, to the glass palaces of the Pentagon, passing by the Atomium, ending up at the Magritte Museum.
The Grand Place, central square of the city, is considered one of the most beautiful squares in the world.
It is sorrounded by the Guildhouses, the Hôtel de Ville (Town Hall) and the Maison du Roi, Gothic masterpieces.
Every even year, in the weekend of 15 August, the Brussel’s Flower Carpet takes place.
Leaving the Grand Place you will easily reach the Place Royale, home to the Magritte Museum, collecting all the creations of the Surrealist Brussel’s artist.

A tour in the Pentagon, where all the super modern skyscrapers of the EU institutions are based, and then one can head to the Atonium, a 338 ft tall tower made of crystal and iron, built for the Expo ‘58, the Belgian equivalent to the Eiffel Tower.

The symbol of the city is a yellow iris against a blue backdrop.
