Located in the heart of the Tavoliere delle Puglie, Foggia is a city of authentic and genuine charm, tied to its agricultural roots but also rich in historical and cultural heritage. Founded in the medieval period, Foggia was one of Emperor Frederick II of Swabia’s favorite residences, which he made an important administrative center of the Kingdom of Sicily. His connection with the emperor is still visible in the remains of the Imperial Palace and in the heraldic symbols that decorate several buildings in the city.

Among the must-see places are the Cathedral of Santa Maria Icona Vetere, which houses the venerated icon of the Madonna dei Sette Veli, the Civic Museum with its interesting archaeological collections, and the Giordano Theatre, one of the oldest in Apulia.
