Safety committees

Among its objectives, Bologna Airport aims at constantly improving the safety levels; nevertheless, the chance of a plane accident can never be ruled out.

Whether it be a plane crash, a terroristic attack, health emergency or a bomb alarm, it is fundamental to correctly and efficiently respond to the crisis. In order to achieve that, every airport, compliant with ICAO standards and guidelines in line with the national regulations, has to adopt an Emergency Plan which clearly illustrates the set functions, procedures and the applicable organisational flows in case of an accident.

Under the coordination of the local CAA, Bologna Airport organises partial and full-scale emergency exercises with the aim of testing the response promptness of all appointed bodies and companies, the coordination and management of first aid and post-emergency aid and thus the welcoming of the victims and their next-of-kin in the dedicated areas.
