The Passenger Terminal at Bologna Airport is open daily, including Bank Holidays, 24 hours a day.
Passengers departing from Bologna Airport must reach the Terminal in due time, according to the airline's guidelines.
If you haven't checked-in yet online, or if you need to hand in your baggage, it is best to report to the check-in area immediately (ground floor, turn left at the main entrance) and perform the check-in procedures at the dedicated check-in desk of your airline, with a booking confirmation and a personal ID Card; you will then receive the boarding pass enabling you to board the plane.
To find out about your check-in desk, simply refer to the flight monitors inside of the airport.
Once the check-in has been done, please proceed upstairs to the first floor through the security checkpoints and then into the boarding area.
If you have checked-in online and have your boarding pass already (and you don’t have to drop off your luggage), report directly to the security checks on the first floor.
The entry into the security checks area is through a turnstile whose gates open automatically by placing the barcode of the boarding pass on the scanner.
For families travelling with kids until 6 years of age, a dedicated priority entry is always open, the Family Fast Track, on the left hand side of the security checkpoints, visible from a distance, thanks to the neon sign that reads “Family”.
At the security checkpoints, both the passenger and the luggage must undergo the x-ray scans. All details on how to undergo the security checks in the correct way are available on the dedicated page.
If you are entitled to access the Vip Lounge (or intend to buy a ticket to), there is no need to queue up at the security checkpoints, but you only need to proceed to the right wing of the Terminal, still on the first floor, to enter into Marconi Business Lounge, where you will receive a dedicated assistance and tailored services and will perform the security checks through a dedicated gate.
Once through the checks, you will be inside of the boarding area where you have to proceed to the gate indicated on the flight monitors to board at the set time.
While waiting, you can obviously enjoy all the shop & eat services present in the area.
Remember that if you're travelling towards non-Schengen destinations, an additional check by the Border Police is necessary. Such additional check, which needs to be taken into account when planning your journey to the gate, is performed on the right wing of the boarding area straight after the security checks, and affects all passengers departing from gates 17-24.
We would like to remind you, furthermore, that for an enhanced comfort at the airport, announcements about departing flights are only available inside the boarding area. We therefore invite you to strictly refer to the time indicated on your boarding pass, and to take a look at the additional information provided on the available monitors.
Passengers with reduced mobility
We would also like to remind that passengers with reduced mobility are dedicated a special assistance service, with priority routes, and we invite all concerned to read the information on the issue.
For any doubts or further information, please refer to the information office sited on the ground floor of the Terminal, next to the check-in area, open from 5 am to 12 pm.
Other available services are interactive information points and flight monitors within the Terminal; an Internet website, apps, Twitter and Facebook pages, QR Code, NFC Code and Beacons to receive information directly on your mobile device.
For further suggestions and requests, please fill in the dedicated form.
Have a pleasant journey!
