Our airport has always been open on a scaled-down basis as we have been assisting with the return of Italian citizens home and allowing those compelled to travel to be able to do so. During the whole emergency and the various lockdown phases that followed, ambulance, transplant and medical supplies transport on cargo flights were always guaranteed. Equipment, vaccines and supplies of sanitary materials arrived in Bologna to help fight the impact of the global pandemic.

I am accompanying a passenger or picking someone up: am I allowed to enter the passenger terminal?
Yes, the entrance to the passenger terminal is also allowed for meeters and greeters of departing passengers, but the access will be suspended in case of overcrowding inside the terminal. Instead, meeters and greeters of arriving passengers can remain outside the terminal where special waiting areas have been set up.
-
Are there special security measures to help the passengers most at risk?
The well-being and health of all passengers and airport staff is the priority for Bologna Airport. Our staff dedicated to special assistance are always available to passengers with reduced mobility problems (PRM).
The wheelchairs used for the transport of passengers with reduced mobility are sanitised after every use and an intensive sanitisation of the special elevators for the transport of passengers on board is in place. The staff also wears personal protective equipment to safeguard their own and the passenger's health.

Where can I find the soap or hand sanitiser dispensers?
Toilets are continuously monitored so that the soap will not run out, and 100 hand sanitising liquid dispensers have been installed close to all toilets and in all areas of the passenger terminal. In addition, dispensers have been installed in all staff areas. In spite of this some dispensers, due to the high frequency of use, may be found empty, so we kindly askall users to report such a situation so that we can take care of it.
