Karpathos

Greek island in the Aegean sea, geographically belonging to the Dodecanese, on the maritime route connecting Rhodes to Crete.
The island, very windy especially in the West, is a perfect destination for wind and water sports lovers.

Olympos, a village situated in the far North-western part, is a remarkable site.
Perched on rocks facing the sea, it offers a marvellous view dotted with windmills.

Right the Western side is the most exposed to the Etesians (dry, strong winds from the North). Not by chance, the most practised sport on Finiki, Arkasa and Lefkos beaches is windsurfing.

The beaches on the East coast, Amoopi, Karpathos Beach, Achata, Kato Latos, Kyra Panagia, Apella, are, on the contrary, the most sheltered and smallest ones, mainly with pebbles and gravel.
For the fine white sand lovers, the southern beaches are ideal: Damatria, Diakoftis, Devils Bay, Agriopotamos.

Lastly, the beaches in the north, Diafani, Vananda and Forokli are accessible via sea and partly by off-road vehicles.
