Seville

Flamenco, corrida, tapas and secular traditions. Seville, capital of the autonomous community of Andalusia, represents the heart of the Spanish typicalness, to dive into the most intense Spanish way of life.

The most important traditional appointment of the city, religiously connotated, is the ‘Semana Santa’. Born in the XVII century, it occurs on Palm Sunday and lasts until the Easter Sunday: every day, along the city streets, solemn processions take place to transport large, majestically adorned statues from the various churches towards the cathedral.

Among the narrow lanes and the aristocratic districts, Seville hides a monumental patrimony of the greatest value, made of grandiose buildings, imposing churches and Arabic style palaces.
The symbol of the city is the Giralda, the bell tower of the city cathedral, an old minaret which, when it was completed in 1184, was the tallest tower in the world. It was declared Unesco World Heritage property in 1987. Still among the Unesco properties are listed the Alcazar and the General Archive of the Indies.
