Lisbon

Fascinating capital of Portugal, it attracts tourists from all over the world with its Manueline-Baroque style architecture pieces and the wonderful views on Tagus river.

The city develops on seven hills and is dominated by São Jorge castle. Built on Roman, Visigothic and Arab sites, it was elected by the Portuguese sovereigns as Royal residence from the XIV until the XVI century. It is one of the most evocative spots in Lisbon.
The same can be said of Bélem Tower, offering marvellous panoramas on the Tagus river. Declared Unesco World Heritage piece, it mixes the Manueline style with the Moresque and Venetian influence. It is found in the homonymous fishermen district.

For the photography lovers, it is compulsory to pay a visit to Miradouro de Santa Luzia, a terrace under a long colonnaded pergola covered in flowers overlooking the Tagus, the ancient Arab walls and the multitude of Alfama’s roofs, ancient Moresque district.

Other unmissable spots: Monastero dos Jeronimos (1496), a Manueline masterpiece, Unesco patrimony; the Chiado, Carmo, Bairro Alto and Mangragoa districts for the nightlife.
