The Medieval town, Unesco site, finds itself within a 2.5-mile wall:
the Upper Town is one of the most beautiful urban settlements of the Gothic period, with the Palace of the Grand Masters, the Great Hospital and the Street of the Knights, while the Lower Town witnesses Gothic architecture coexisting with mosques, public baths and other Ottoman buildings. Of the famous Colossus of Rhodes, statue of the Greek god Helios, one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World, nothing is left.
Lindos beach is a must to visit, along the eastern coast of the island, dominated by the homonymous acropolis. It is one of the nicest beaches in Rhodes and in the whole of Greece.
Another beach deserving a visit is Agathi, of soft, golden sand, situated along the eastern coast.
For wind- and kite surfers, Prassonissi beach, on the southern edge of the island, is one of the best-loved sites due to the ever-blowing wind.
