This is my first time flying. What do I have to do at the airport on the day of departure?

There are three main steps:

  1. Check in: check in your hold baggage and receive your boarding card.
  2. Security control: access the departure lounge with your hand luggage if you have any.
  3. Boarding the aircraft: it is necessary to have a boarding card and a valid form of identification when you go to the departure gate for your flight.

What is a boarding card?

A boarding card is a document which is given to passengers when checking in and contains the following information: departure time, gate number and seat number.

How long before my flight departs do I have to check in?

We advise that you arrive at least two hour before your flight departs for domestic flights and three hours before for international flights. Passengers must, in any case, check with their airlines.

Where is the check in area?

Check in area is located on the ground floor.

How can I check that my flight is on time and find my check-in desk?

  • Web: by visiting the airport website on the Live flight information or by telephoning the information office on +39 051-6479615 (from 5.00 to 24.00).
  • At the airport: by checking departure screens or by going to the information desk on the first floor.
