Bologna airport will be closed on 15 and 16 September for the runway maintenance: interruption of all flight activities from/to Bologna
Within the scope of the infrastructure recurrent maintenance, some important maintenance works on the runway will take place at Bologna Airport in September.
Works will include the remaking of traffic signs, the runway surface and inner layers and the pavement of the runway. They will determine the runway closure with consequent interruption of all flight activities. Planning is as follows:
- From 8 to 14 September and from 17 to 24 September works will only take place at night - between 0.01 and 5.45 a.m. – regular services and facilities are ensured for all flights operating regularly from 5.46 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.
- On 15 and 16 September, works will proceed throughout the 24 hours with runway closure from 0.01 to 12.00 p.m. and consequent interruption of all flight activities.
The maintenance activity dates have been selected on the basis of technical, weather and operative reasons. Night-time works have been chosen, when possible, to minimize their effects on the airport’s activities.
On 15th and 16th September no flights on arrival or on departure will be scheduled from Bologna Airport. For information on the rescheduling, if any, of flights to/from Bologna, passengers are invited to contact their airline.
No additional flight cancellation is planned on the other dates, but delayed or non-scheduled flights which should require to land after 12.00 p.m. will not be allowed to land in Bologna for security reasons and will be diverted to other airports.
