What to do in the case of loss of baggage
If you think your bag has been lost or accidentally taken by someone else contact the Lost and Found Office ground floor (Arrivals), with the baggage receipt that was attached to your ticket. The staff at the office will initiate proceedings for baggage retrieval. If your airline deems it necessary, you will be provided with a kit containing essential items and baggage reclaim will be carried out.
If your airline uses the World Tracer baggage tracing system (see list), you can visit their web site to use this system, enter your reference number and surname for information regarding your baggage.
In the following list, you will find the Airlines currently operating at Bologna Airport making use of the system to recover lost property (World Tracer).

Delays and damage
Before exiting the Baggage reclaim area, please report to Lost & Found Office for regular claim lodging.
The Passenger Rights Charter provides for compensation in the case of ruined, damaged, lost or delayed baggage on a flight operated by an airline in the EU. Requests for compensation must be made within 7 days of baggage arrival in the case of damage to a registered bag and within 21 days for delayed receipt of baggage.

Located at the first floor of the main terminal, inside Security Staff Entrance a Luggage storage is also available 24/7.
Passengers can store their luggage by paying a fee of 6 Euros per item per day.
For objects / luggage out of gauge the daily cost of the service is € 12.00 per day.

Repack and go
Re-Pack & Go" is a service provided for all Marconi passengers, especially designed for those who realize on their way to the check-in desk that their bag is too heavy or too full.
Located in Check-in Area on the ground floor, “Re-Pack & Go” provides self service electronic scales which passengers can use by themselves to check the weight of their bags and make sure that they comply with the baggage allowances set by the various airlines.
If they wish, passengers can use the tables provided to rearrange the contents of their baggage more comfortably. A second item of hold luggage can also be left at the airport baggage storage facility, giving passengers the option of leaving behind less essential items.
