DHL Express Italy, leader in international express air transport, and Fast Freight Marconi, the company within the Bologna Airport group that handles the airport’s cargo services, have signed an agreement to open a DHL Servicepoint within Bologna Airport.
“The partnership with Fast Freight Marconi”, says Fausto Forti, President and Managing Director of DHL Express Italy, “is part of DHL Express Italy’s expansion strategy for the Bologna territory. Trade agreements with important partners will allow us to extend the services we offer and ensure that they are of a consistently high standard”.
Nazzarena Franco, General Manager of Fast Freight Marconi adds: “The agreement for the handling of the DHL ServicePoint allows us to extend our range of air transport services and strengthen our position as an air freight service centre”.
Open every day from 10.30 am to 7.30 pm, the service is available to both subscribers and occasional users and handles both national and international express deliveries. In particular, occasional customers can also use the Express4you service that offers a wide range of packaging for their deliveries, free of charge.
The new ServicePoint enables DHL to be more flexible and in touch with their local customer’s needs, as customers can hand over their deliveries right up to the last moment in time for evening dispatch.
The long opening hours of the ServicePoint at Bologna Airport, made possible by Fast Freight Marconi’s operating time slots, support the DHL flight that connects Bologna directly to the DHL European hub in Leipzig every evening.
The DHL ServicePoint network now has 1,100 service points across the country within the leading Italian retail companies. In Emilia Romagna there are 70 service points, including 22 in the province of Bologna.
