London

Multiethnic metropolis and capital of the United Kingdom, London is located on the river Thames banks. Main seat of the Royal Family, it hosts plenty of interesting sites.

Among the best known buildings are Buckingham Palace, official residence of the British Monarchy, Westminster Palace and Big Ben clock tower, headquarter of the United Kingdom’s Parliament, Westminster Abbey and the Tower Bridge, hosting the Crown jewellery.

Among the unmissable museums, along with the Tower Bridge’s, are the following: the National Gallery, the British Museum, Sherlock Home’s museum and Madame Tussauds, the famous wax museum.

The squares you cannot miss are Trafalgar square and Piccadilly Circus. The latter, situated in the Soho district, is also one of the city nightlife centres, with many trendy venues.

The City also boasts many interesting modern buildings like: the Shard London Bridge, planned by the Italian architect Renzo Piano, and the 30 St Mary Axe, planned by Norman Foster and known as ‘The Gherkin’.
Don’t forget to take a tour on the London Eye, the panoramic Ferris wheel, located on the South Bank of the river Thames.
